VASCULAR TREATMENTS

The secret of our pulsed light’s performance lies in our dual filter technology that delivers optimally filtered wavelengths of pulsed light, for results as good as or better than those of competitive single-application lasers.

Using the principle of selective photothermolysis, the treatment targets different chromophores in the skin, which selectively absorb the laser or light energy as heat and yield the desired response. These optimal wavelengths of light clear vascular lesions by targeting the chromophores of haemoglobin. These damaged lesions are then cleared by the body, removing the appearance of the lesion from the skin. Vascular lesions blanch and then resolve within 10 to 14 days.

WHAT IS FACTOR4?

HOW DO I PREPARE FOR THE EXTRACTION
OF MY SERUM?
Preparation for the FACTOR4 treatment is fairly straight forward. Reduce or avoid alcohol consumption the night before as this can dehydrate you and increase the risk of bruising during the treatment. Consume 2 – 4 glasses of water before you come in to have your blood taken to ensure you are nicely hydrated.

 

 

HOW MUCH BLOOD IS EXTRACTED?

You will require 3-4 FACTOR4 treatments, these are usually given at a 1-2 week intervals. In order to allow the required amount of serum, 4 x 10ml tubes will be taken followed by centrifugation, serum extraction, and filtration. The serum is portioned and stored ready for your next appointments. FACTOR4 is then used to treat your areas of concern.

 

 

HOW IS FACTOR4 PRODUCED?

FACTOR4 is generated in technologically advanced tubing. Your blood is processed using advanced technology. The 6 – 9 hour incubating process separates and produces super concentrated growth factors from your blood serum. The serum is then spun and filtered to purify and refine your serum, making it four times richer.

 

 

HOW MUCH SERUM WILL BE COLLECTED?

Between 30 – 40mls. This is a tenth less than what is taken compared to when you give blood.

 

 

HOW DO I PREPARE MYSELF BEFORE A
FACTOR4 TREATMENT?

Arrive early to allow for a topical anaesthetic cream to be applied to the areas being treated. Before the topical cream is applied, your make up and any existing facial products will be removed to allow for the topical cream play its role. The topical cream is not mandatory, however, it is highly recommended as it makes for a more comfortable experience.

 

 

WHAT CAN I EXPECT DURING THE FACTOR4
TREATMENT?

Each clinician has their own treatment protocols. These treatment applications range from blebs, threads, direct injection, canulea, drizzle, mirco-needling and massage techniques.

 

 

WHAT SHOULD I EXPECT AFTER A FACTOR4
TREATMENT?

Skin redness can persist for up to 24 hrs, very occasionally this may last for 2 days. You may also have mild bruising or swelling around the eyes and lips, as with any clinical procedure.

 

 

WHAT IS THE RECOMMENDED POST CARE?

FACTOR4 is designed with minimal interference to daily life, with the treatment lasting up to an hour. Ensure you drink a litre of water, assisting the skins hydration process. Once you leave the clinic, it’s recommended that you leave your skin application free for minimum 12 hours. Klinic Solutions recommends Beaute Pacifique Serum Paradoxe and the Beaute Pacifique product line.

 

 

CAN I RETURN TO ACTIVITIES AFTER A
FACTOR4 TREATMENT?

It is suggested that you limit your activities after your treatment, to avoid sweating or increasing the possibility of swelling or bruising. It is also recommended to not apply make up or wash the treatment area for 12 hours.

 

 

IS FACTOR4 MIXED WITH OTHER LIQUIDS?

FACTOR4 is truly an autologous system and is not diluted with any liquids keeping it free of additives or extra enzymes that the body has to process. It is completely natural and extremely rich in growth factors allowing the new layering of college structures.

IPL REJUVENATION?

For those who have photo damaged skin from living ins the harsg Australian Environment, the Intense Pusle Light is the perfect solution for clearer younger looking skin.

The light used is not UVA or UVB light but simply pure visible light thats wavelength is attracted and absorbed by melanin eg sun spots, lentigines, seborrhoeic keratosis and blood eg capillaries. in spots where the melanin has accumulated, the light energy absorbed is converted to heat which destroys the melanin cells.

 

 

WHAT CAN IPL REJUVENATION TREAT?

IPL Rejuvenation is very effective in reducing or lightening up any freckles, age spots, hormonal pigmentation, broken capillaries and redness. Intense Pulse Light is also effective in managing rosacea and acne by helping to reduce inflammation and eliminate bacteria. WHAT TO EXPECT?

The Skin is cleaned to remove makeup and eye shields are placed over the eyes. the light is safe as it is not a laser but can still be bright. The treatment is fast and feels like bing flicked with an elastic band. The Starlux Medical strength IPL machine has a cooling head which makes treatment comfortable.

Rejuvenation requires 2 to 3 treatments 5 weeks apart.

The treatment itself takes 15 to 30 minutes. Afterwards the skin will feel hot (like you have sunburn) as the heat has been absorbed by the target chromophore. This usually subsides after about one hour. Sometimes there might be some skin swelling or mild swelling under the eyes which may last for 2 days. Darkening pigments last for 7 to 10 days and can be covered with makeup ( we recommend a mineral makeup). Do not scratch or pick at the pigment but let it come away naturally.

any capillaries will disappear or become blurred after treatment. These usually take 2 weeks to see what extent the vessels have gone.

 

 

WHAT ARE THE RISKS?

An uneven response – sometimes after the first treatment pigment may remain giving the appearance of unevenness. This will be cleared up wit the second treatment.

Starlux IPL treatments are safe. Darker or tanned skin types are more prone to temporary pigment changes but pigment changes are usually temporary. test patches are recommended in some cases.

We recommend the use of topical vitamin C to protect the skin from harmful rays and retinol which stimulates collagen and elastin growth.

WHAT IS ELECTROLYSIS?

Electrolysis hair removal refers to the practice of electrically removing hair from the human body. When hair is removed in this way, the effects are almost always permanent. It involves several steps or treatments to be completed, and is done by inserting a needle-like probe into a hair follicle, and passing an electrical current through it. Any areas of the body can have hair removed in this way.

Electrolysis is an effective treatment for both Vellus and Terminal Hair.

Vellus hair is soft, fine, and short. Most women have vellus hair on their chest, back, and face. It can be darker and more noticeable in some women than others, especially those with darker complexions.

Terminal hair is coarser, darker, and longer than vellus hair

 

 

TYPES OF ELECTROLYSIS

The first method of electrolysis was galvanism discovered by a U.S ophthalmologist in 1875 who used it to successfully, permanently remove ingrown eyelashes. The other method of electrolysis is thermolysis which was discovered in France in 1924. The two systems used in conjunction are known as the blend method to date these offer treatments still offer permanent hair removal.

The Blend Method:
A combination of both galvanic and high frequency current

Thermolysis Treatment or Short Wave Diathermy:
The thermolysis treatment uses a high frequency current which destroys the hair follicle by heat. The needle itself does not produce the heat but when the high frequency current comes in contact with living cells within its high frequency field, the cells themselves vibrate at such a high frequency they produce friction which results in heat and this in turn destroys the cells themselves. This works best for light or grey hair that is very fine and usually on the face. A single probe is inserted by hand in to the follicle; each insertion lasts between 1 and 4 seconds.

Multi Needle Galvanic – for stronger hair types:
Electroliysis affects only the individual hair follicle NOT the surrounding skin, the head is directed at the growing area of the hair follicle.

 

 

WHICH METHOD?

Both methods ultimately achieve the same result. It can be determined on consultation which method will work best for your hair and skin type.

 

 

HOW LONG WILL IT TAKE?

Each case can vary to the individual and must be assessed on consultation. As a general guide from commencement to completion it usually take s 3 months to 2 years, depending on the area being treated and the frequency of treatments.

 

 

WHAT CAUSES UNWANTED HAIR GROWTH?

Hair growth is the result of heredity and hormonal levels. Also, some drugs, temporary methods of hair removal and some illnesses can stimulate hair growth. Usually, hair growth is desirable. But when the hair is the wrong part of your body — a woman’s upper lip or chin or bikini line, for example — you may be considering electrolysis.

 

 

UNDERSTANDING REGROWTH

Before commencing treatment it is important to understand the concept of regrowth. When is removed from it’s roots, true regrowth can take anything from 6 to 13 weeks. It should be noted that the hair you have removed today is not the same as the hair regrown next week

 

 

HOW MANY ELECTROLYSIS TREATMENTS WILL I NEED?

Since many factors influence hair growth, you will need to return for several electrolysis visits. The total number of sessions needed to remove hair permanently from a particular area will vary from person to person. Most clients return once a week or every other week, as necessary. Regrowth after treatment becomes progressively weaker and finally stops growing.

But the unwanted hair will be gone forever once the series of treatments have been completed. Each treatment lasts between 15 minutes and one hour.

 

 

MYTHS ABOUT ELECTROLYSIS

Electrolysis is painful. The truth is, electrolysis usually does not cause much discomfort. Modern electrolysis methods have reduced the discomfort to a mere tingling. A topical anesthetic may be used in some cases.

HOW DOES IPL HAIR REDUCTION WORK?

Intense pulse light works by being attracted to the melanin in the hair. The light then travels down the hair shaft and when the reaching the hair follicle heats it up resulting in the destruction of the growth hair follicle.

Hairs do not grow in synchrony. Only the hairs in the follicle at that time will be treated so we recommend a course of six to eight treatment 4 to 6 weeks apart.

 

 

TYPES OF HAIR?

For hair to respond to IPL therapy it must contain melanin. Thick IPL will not work on blonde or grey hair and can struggle on red or strawberry blonde hair even if it is usually thick.

 

 

TYPES OF SKIN?

Most skin types can be teated successfully although Mediterranean, indian, and asian skin types need to be treated more cautiously, but the risk remain low. On darker skin types a very small percentage may experience increased hair growth, heper or hypopigmentation may occur but his is rare and usually temporary. Do not use tanning creams, sunbed or get to tanned during treatments as pale skin responds the best.

 

 

WHAT TO EXPECT POST IPL?

It is important that you do not wax or pluck hair prior to a treatment as the light targets the hair in the follicle. Before a treatment please shave or use depilatory cream in order to remove any hairs from the surface.

The Starlux IPL machine delivers flashes of light that targets the melanin. The hand pieces used has a chilled head that means the treatment is more comfortable an don subsequent no subsequent messy cooling gels are required.

Slight red and some very mild swelling may been seen after our treatment and the skin will feel warm, similar to sunburn for about 30m minutes post treatment.

Treated hairs will take approximately 7 days to fall out followed by a few weeks when no hair will grow. after about 4 weeks the hair will grow back sparse and usually finer. This hair can be shaved as much as you like, The skin texture will be smoother and softer post treatment.
