Matrix PDO Mono Thread
Matrix PDO Mono Threads are a revolutionary method of tightening and thickening the skin. As we age, we lose facial fat especially around the eyes, cheeks, jowls, and neck area. The elastin in our skin also thins with age causing lines and wrinkles to form as the scaffolding in our skin is no longer able to support like it used to.
The PDO threads work by becoming the support structure for our skin, allowing the natural collagen production to take place. PDO Threads are a minimally invasive alternative to a surgical facelift.
What are PDO Mono Threads
PDO Threads are made of a material called Polydioxanone, and absorbable suture that have been used in cardiac surgeries for the past 50 years. Prior to your treatment a topical anaesthetic numbing cream will be used. The PDO Threads are inserted into the skin in a mesh like pattern using a cannula. Once the thread is in place the cannula is removed and the PDO Mono Thread activates collagen synthesis to gradually rejuvenate and tighten the skin. The threads are not visible and are completely absorbed into the body after approx. 12 weeks.

Down time and possible side effects.
PDO Mono Threads are a skin tightening treatment that is minimally invasive. However, all cosmetic treatments do carry some risks and the possibility of unwanted side effects. Mild to moderate swelling and bruising may be experienced. Swelling normally subsides within 48 hours, bruising may take up to a week to subside. With all cosmetic procedures there is a small risk of infection. All possible side effects will be discussed with you prior to your treatment. By choosing a health professional well trained and experienced administering the procedure will minimise the risk of these sided effects.
